Credit Union Quiz

A massive well done to James, Ciaran, Danny and Fionn who progressed to the Credit Union National Quiz Finals held in Dublin in April 2018.

GAA Amigos

Congratulations to the girls team Tara, Aoife, Lyla and Clodagh who won their games to qualify for the Final. Also to Tara who was the overall winner of the place kicking competition.


On Friday 24th November 2017, the 5th and 6th class boys and girls took part in a basketball jamboree run in co ordination with The Mercy Secondary School and Sligo All Stars a great day was had by all. Four of our pupils Aoife Lyons, David Lyons, Steve Hannon and Darragh Colsh were selected to play at half time in the Sligo all Star game against Carlow I.T. on the Saturday

Swimming Champion

Killian Langton who is a 6th class pupil came first in 200m breaststroke in the All Irelands. Killian is a very dedicated swimmer who goes training 4 mornings a week in Sligo before he starts his school day. The school is very proud of Killian and we hope he will inspire many more pupils showing them what can be achieved with hard work and committment.

Athletics Fest Sligo

The school took part in the Supervalu Athletics Fest in Sligo on 26th September 2017. We had eight teams running on the day all putting in great performances. The team of the day were the Senior Mixed Team of David Lyons, Aoife Lyons, Tara McGowan and Steve Hannon who ran a fantasic final and were only pipped for first place.

Student Council

The school council have been very busy all year fundraising and are delighted with the opening of the library and the new buddy bench in the yard

GAA Plate Final

Congratulations to the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Girls on their fantasic win in the Cumann na Bunscol Plate Final. The girls trained hard under the expert guidance of Ms Denning. We are all very proud of them!!

Credit Union Quiz

Congratulations to Emma Hannon, Luke Devaney, Jacob Tighe and Killian Langton who won the Senior Section in the Ballymote Credit Union Quiz. Thank you to Ms McGrath for all her hard work in preparing the team.

Art Competition

Junior/Senior Infant Classes were the County Winners in the junior section of Someone Like Me Art Competition. Ms Dennings' class impressed the judges with their poster showing how different and yet the same we all are.

School Inspection

A Whole School Inspection was carried out by the Department in December 2016. A copy of their report can be viewed on We would like to thank the Board of Management, Parents Association, Parents, Teachers and Pupils for all their hard work.

Creative Writing with Gerry Boland

All our classes have been enjoying listening to and learning from our visiting author Gerry Boland over the past few weeks. Gerry has written a number of successful childrens books and has been firing up the childrens imagination, helping them to create their own stories! Dance, Dance, Dance!

As part of our Active Schools policy, the children enjoyed a wonderful morning of exercise, dance and fun with Viviane Moran. All classes took part, with the infant room proving the stars of the show!
