Sixth class took part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) from December to March. The programme is an entrepreneurial awareness programme for primary school children. Pupils in Sixth Class presented their own business ideas to a Dragons Den type panel consisting of James Ward from Lough Gill Brewery, Ms Valentine and Mr Carty. The Dragons were hugely impressed with the pupils’ creativity and presentation skills. After long deliberation Alanna’s Memory Box was chosen as our project to develop and bring to market. We spent 8 weeks working on market research, team building, product development and production of our Memory Boxes. We organised a showcase day on 24th March to present and sell our products. Such was the demand for our Memory Boxes, we sold our complete stock of 50 boxes between pre-orders and within minutes of our showcase opening. We all enjoyed the experience and we hope to continue to develop our entrepreneurial skills in the coming years. Special thanks to James Ward who gave up his time freely to tell us about his experience and to adjudicate on our Dragons Den
