As a part of our European Comenius Project, each participating school planted a School Garden. We really enjoyed planting some lovely vegetables in our garden & then watching them grow! We planted cabbage, lettuce, rhubarb, radish & spring onions. We also planted a number of herbs including fennell, parsley & chives- which looked so pretty with their purple flowers. We picked the rhubarb & Ms Tighe showed 1st Class how to make a simple rhubarb dessert with it! They all tried it- some people didn’t like it, but others loved it & ate the lot! We planted two apple trees close to our vegetable garden. They are very small & will take longer to grow than our vegetables but we are looking forward to watching them & taking note of their progress. We planted a number of flower boxes for our windows & the flowers are just starting to open now & look beautiful.
